Wednesday, September 5: Students completed W. 10-11 by viewing each group's posters. If absent, check out a textbook from Ms. Nay to complete W. 10-11. We then discussed how to write a DBQ Paragraph. We looked at W. 9, analyzing the image as a class. We then went over the DBQ Paragraph Rubric on Ref D, discussing the expectation. To end, students labeled the physical features map on Ref B, using the list found on the Documents page. The features must also be colored.
Due: None In Class: W. 10-11, Aztec DBQ Paragraph, Physical map on Ref B Homework: Finish physical map (list found on documents page) Friday, September 7: First, students wrote their own DBQ paragraph answering the following question and using the document on W. 9: "Based on the picture, how do we know the Aztec were an advanced civilization?" Students then took notes on W. 14 about Pre-Columbian Europe (PowerPoint on Documents page if absent). Next, each "team" chose a country and captain for our sea voyage simulation. If time, students caught up on the physical map and Aztec DBQ Paragraph.
