Monday, September 17: Today we took notes on the "3 G's of Exploration" on W. 17. If absent, see Ms. Nay or a peer for the notes. Ms. Nay then told the story of Christopher Columbus. If absent, it's recommended that you do a little research on Christopher Columbus' journey. Lastly, roles were assigned for the Columbus Trial, which will take place next week. Students are to read through the information for their assigned role. If absent, you will receive your role when you return.

Students wrote a DBQ paragraph based on the quote on this page. The question is: "According to Columbus, what was Hispaniola like?" Next, students played PIT, with the rules gradually changed to better understand the concept of mercantilism. After, students completed W. 19 about the events of the day. If absent, discuss with a teammate what happened, and summarize it on your page. Students then prepared for the trial.
