Monday, May 4: Today we started by watching 25 minutes of "Utah in the 30s" and took notes on p. 90-91 in the workbook. If absent, come to a lab to view the video or bring a flash drive to get a copy. Students then completed p. 67 in the workbook, about the New Deal, using the textbook (chapter 12). With any remaining time, students began working on their fill in the blanks on p. 68-71.

They were then given 20 minutes to work on the fill in the blanks on p. 68-71 in the workbook. Students then went through the Rise of the Nazi Party PowerPoint as a class. We then discussed how World War 2 started and how America got involved. Students were then introduced to the Topaz internment camp, reading p. 247-249 in the textbook and completing a Read Stop Write, and we began reading Journey to Topaz.
