Tuesday, April 23: CAREER DAY
Due: Current Event #2 In Class: None Homework: None Thursday, April 25: Students created a political cartoon on a current or historical issue. Students were then introduced to the novel we will be reading about the Japanese internment camp at Topaz. The novel is called Journey to Topaz (J2T). Books were checked out to the students, who are in charge of the care of the book until we finish it. We read the intro and chapters 1 & 2. If absent, please see Ms. Nay ASAP for a copy of the book so that you can get caught up. Due: None In Class: J2T Chp. 1-2, W. 75 Homework: Workbook up-to-date, Political Cartoon Monday, April 1: Students took some notes about checks and balances on W. 45 (if absent, see Ms. Nay or a peer for notes). They then worked on the Chapter 10 fill in the blanks on W. 48-50 (using old textbooks).

First, students took notes about WWI on W. 54-55 (if absent, find PowerPoint on Documents page). Next, we watched part 1 of War, Depression, War and answered questions 1-5 on W. 56 (if absent, come to a lab to watch the ten minute video clip). Finally, students took notes on W. 58-59 on propaganda during WWI and the purpose of political cartoons (PowerPoint on documents page).
