Tuesday, August 21: Today we discussed how to read a map. Students completed the Biggest Places on Earth assignment (see documents page). We also introduced/reviewed the 5 Themes of Geography, taking some notes. If absent, see Ms. Nay or a peer for the notes. We also discussed latitude and longitude, completing an assignment (see documents page). Students then had time to finish their Vocabulary Collage.

Check back for more info on what we learned. Tuesday, August 14: Welcome to 9th grade Geography! Today we went over the Disclosure statement, as well as classroom expectations and procedures. Students also participated in an icebreaker. They then participated in an icebreaker activity.
In Class: Disclosure Overview Homework: Disclosure signed (due Friday) Wednesday, August 15: Class began with a discussion on what you can do with geography. We defined geography, and then played a dictionary game with some additional vocabulary words. Lastly, students began an assignment in which they pick some of the geography words and create a collage image of them. For instructions, see the Documents page.
