Monday, December 17: Students completed the Cause & Effect assignment on W. 56-57. Then they read p. 84-85 & 88-89 in their textbook and complete one Read Stop Write on p. 64 (or 65 if they’ve already filled 64) of their workbook. They had any remaining time to work on their social media posters.

Tuesday, December 11: First we reviewed for the explorer unit test next class. Then we worked on our mountain man social media posters. These are due Friday.

If absent, come to a lab ASAP to take it. Students then participated in our class rendezvous. They then started writing their research report. It should be two pages, typed, double-spaced, 11-12 point font and include a works cited page.

If finished, they began to work on the social media poster portion of the project. We also read some tall tales. Students then took an event from their own lives and exaggerated to make a tall tale. They wrote this tall tale on W. 50. If time, they continued working on W. 46-47.

They then researched about that mountain man using the textbook and the internet. On the Utah Studies home page, there are many websites listed for each mountain man that you can use. Students completed the review of these people on W. 46-47. They also completed some activities to better understand the life of a mountain main.
