Monday, February 25: Students were given time to work on their two-voice poems. We then started taking notes on W. 32 about Territorial Utah (if absent, click here for the Prezi).
Due: W. 29 (Two-voice poem rough draft) In Class: Two-voice poem final draft, W. 32 notes (four parts) Homework: Two-voice poem final draft Wednesday, February 27: Students had an opportunity to share their Two-Voice Poems with the class. We then finished the notes on W. 32 on Territorial Utah (if absent, click here for the Prezi and notes). Students then started the picture notes on W. 33. They are required to draw two simple pictures for each tab on the foldable on W. 32 (or each section of the Prezi). Due: Two-voice poem final draft In Class: Finished W. 32, W. 33 Homework: Finish W. 33 Friday, March 1: Together we read and discussed W. 34, answering the questions on the page. Students were then introduced to the Newspaper assignment (see W. 35). We then reviewed the information in the foldable on W. 32. Due: W. 33 Complete In Class: W. 34 Homework: Current Event #4, Community Experience, Study for Test, Workbook up to date Tuesday, February 19: Students shared their posters. Students completed W. 25 from the posters. They then went through the textbook to see if there was any important information to add to W. 25. If absent, complete the rest of W. 25 using your textbook or the internet. They were then introduced to the two-voice poem (information on W. 27-28). We read a sample two-voice poem. Students will write their own next class. Students also brainstormed and completed W. 26.

Students then were assigned one section of W. 25 and researched & completed it. They then completed a poster on the assigned conflict, using the instructions on W. 24. If absent, choose one of the conflicts on W. 25 to complete the row on W. 25 and create a poster for (W. 24). Due: M2M Brochure In Class: W. 25 (one column), Conflict Poster Homework: Finish poster (instructions on W. 24) Monday, February 4: Students completed a Read Stop Write for T 130-131. They then began working on their Mission to Mars brochure. The instructions are on W. 17.

If absent, see Ms. Nay for yours. We then read T. 110-111 & 138-139 and completed a Read Stop Write at the back of the workbook (just one RSW). Then we completed the chart on W. 2 (if absent, see Ms. Nay or a peer for the notes). Students then made their new clock partners.

Today the class that was on A day last semester switches to B day. This is now where you'll find your agenda for the week. Today we read T. 126 as a class and completed W. 2 together (if absent, see Ms. Nay or a peer if you cannot figure out what to write based on T. 126). Students then made their new clock partners. We then discussed the travel portion of the Mission to Mars (M2M) project. Students started working on W. 5-7. If finished with it all, they played the old Oregon Trail game.
