Monday, November 24: To begin, the class finished the quiz on Part 6 of Life is Beautiful. We then corrected the quiz, then read the analysis for Part 6. Next we finished watching the movie Life is Beautiful. Students to the quiz for Part 7, which we then corrected and discussed, then read through the analysis for the end of the movie. Students were given the homework assignment to prepare for the Socratic Seminar next class.

Tuesday, November 18: Class began with correcting the quiz for Part 2 of Life is Beautiful. This was then turned in. The class then read through the analysis of Part 2 together. Next we watched Part 3 of Life is Beautiful. We then read the summary, took the quiz, and read the analysis. Then we watched Part 4 of Life is Beautiful, read the summary, took the quiz, and read the analysis.

The students then finished the documentary on Operation Valkyrie. Lastly, we had a small Socratic Seminar discussing the film Valkyrie.

After about 20 minutes, we moved toward preparing for our next film, Life is Beautiful. The students answered questions in conjunction with a PowerPoint on Italy During WW2. We then discussed the background for Life is Beautiful. Then we watched the first part of the movie. Students kept a dialectic journal while watching. They then answered the quiz questions on Part 1 of the film. Next we went over a summary and analysis of part 1 and discussed it as a class. Then we watched Part 2 of the film. Afterwords, we answered the quiz questions for part 2 and went over a summary and analysis of part 2, discussing it as a class.
