Monday, April 25: Students presented their skits on westward expansion. We then discussed an overview of the War of 1812. The Powerpoint is on the documents page. Lastly, students completed W. 52 (except for the last two questions), pre-assessing knowledge of the Civil War.
Due: skits In Class: W. 52 Homework: none Wednesday, April 27: Class began with a quiz on Westward Expansion. Students then participated in an activity brainstorming about the causes of the Civil War. If absent, answer the following questions on a separate piece of paper and turn in: 1. What is a civil war? 2. What are advantages/disadvantages in a war? 3. What was life in the North like? 4. What was life in the South like? 5. What causes war? 6. What was the view of slavery in the early 1800s? We then started a Powerpoint on the causes of the Civil War. If absent, see a peer for notes.
