Monday, September 28: We continued our explorer game today, completing entry #1 on W. 28. Assignments were then given for the Columbus Trial next Tuesday. Witnesses became familiar with their statements and lawyers read the witness depositions and prepped the witnesses.

We then did some preparation for the Columbus trial next week. If absent, see Ms. Nay for your role in the trial, which will take place next Monday. With the remaining time, we discussed how Spain built an empire, taking notes on W. 40-41 with the PowerPoint found on the Documents page (please complete if absent). Students received some time to prep for the Columbus trial. We then finished taking the notes on W. 42-44 using the PowerPoint found on the Documents page (Spain Builds an Empire). We also discussed the Columbian Exchange, taking notes on the items that originated on different sides of the world at the bottom of W. 44 (see PowerPoint on Documents page if absent).
