Monday, September 29: Students were given a few minutes to review the physical features of the U.S. before taking the map test on them. If absent, please come after school to make up this test. After the test, students exchanged trading cards to complete the Explorer Spreadsheet on p. 32-33 in the workbook. Lastly, students were given time to answer the document questions for the DBQ. If finished early, they may begin writing their essay.
Due: Trading cards (two) In Class: Physical features map test, Explorer Spreadsheet on p. 32-33 Wednesday, October 1: Class began with a look at an example DBQ essay response and a discussion of the expectations of the DBQ essay. Students then reviewed for the test next class by participating in a review activity. Due next class: Community Experience, Unit 2 assignments in workbook, Unit 2 Test Friday, October 3: Students were given 10 minutes to review for the test, then took the test. When they were finished, students had time to work on their DBQ essays. At the end of class, we looked over the vocabulary words for the next unit and began labeling the counties map in the workbook.
