Tuesday, January 26: Today we finished watching America: The Story of Us (Episode 2) and completed W. 91, the accompanying video guide. We then reviewed for the test next class, which will be an essay test on the Revolutionary War. It is suggested that you study the following:
-what it means to be a Patriot/Loyalist -advantages and disadvantages of both sides -major figures -major battles: what happened and why they were important -how the Americans won -why the British should have won Due: Current Event #1 In Class: Finished W. 91 Homework: Study for Test (next class), Workbook completed (turning in next class) Thursday, January 28: Class began with the test on the Revolutionary War. If absent, please come to a lab ASAP to make up the test. Depending on the time remaining, students planned a small re-enactment of a battle or analyzed primary sources. Wednesday, January 20: Today we learned about some of the major battles of the Revolution. Students took notes with the PowerPoint. If absent, see a peer for the notes. Students then completed the Mapping the Revolution activity on W. 88-89. The information packet is available on the documents page if absent. In any remaining time, we started watching America: The Story of Us, Episode 2 and answering the questions on W. 91.
Due: W. 86-87 In Class: W. 90 notes, W. 88-89 Map Homework: Finish map if not finished in class Friday, January 22: In class today we took notes on the final major battles of the war on W. 90. If absent, see a peer for the notes. We then finished watching America: The Story of Us , Episode 2 and answering the questions on W. 91. We then read parts of the Declaration of Independence and then listened to it read in it's entirety. Students then completed W. 92. Lastly, students had a couple more tries at Blow the Roof Off.

They then took the essay test on Causes of the Revolutionary War. Students in A3 completed W. 92. With any leftover time, students started the assignment on W. 86-87. Due: Workbook In Class: Essay Test, Started W. 86-87, W. 92 (A3 only) Homework: none Friday, January 15: We discussed the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Students completed W. 86-87, using their textbook. We then started the major battles of the Revolution Powerpoint and took notes on W. 90 (if absent, get notes from a peer). Due: none In Class: W. 86-87, Started W. 90 Homework: Finish W. 86-87 if not finished in class Tuesday, January 5: Today we briefly reviewed the Acts of Parliament, which were discussed before break. We then finished the Prezi as well as the notes on W. 83. If absent, review the Prezi (link below) and see a peer for the notes. Students then completed the "Hey, King" Activity #1 on W. 77-79. Lastly, we did our first attempt at the Causes of the Revolution Blow the Roof Off activity. If absent, you will be assigned your role for this activity upon return.
