Wednesday, September 7: Today we discussed the difference between primary and secondary sources. If absent, be sure to investigate the difference between the two. We also discussed how to write a DBQ paragraph, since everyone has now had practice writing one. Next, students were introduced to the Native North Americans, as well as the Gale Reference Library and the Library of Congress. Students were randomly assigned one Native American group or region and were instructed to research that group. If absent, see Ms. Nay for your assigned group.
Due: none In Class: W. 16 or 17 (Tribe Research) Homework: Tribe research complete Friday, September 9: Today students received a few minutes to touch up their tribe research. We then took a few minutes in class to discuss the events of 9/11 and answered student questions. Students were then divided into groups to create a presentation on the region they researched. Groups will present next class (they will have a few minutes to finish their preparation next class). If they finish early, they may finish their physical features maps. If absent, be sure to contact your group to know what you need to do to help them be prepared.
