We walked through the requirements for current events and community experiences. Then students found important features in their textbooks while completing the "Textbook Exploration" worksheet. We then brainstormed and voted on our class rules and consequences.
We had a small get to know you activity before going over the disclosure document, with emphasis on current events and the community experience.
