Monday, November 26: Today we discussed the difference between fact and opinion, and why it is important to recognize the difference when studying history. We also read some tall tales. Students then took an event from their own lives and exaggerated to make a tall tale. They wrote this tall tale on W. 50. If time, they continued working on W. 46-47.

They then researched about that mountain man using the textbook and the internet. On the Utah Studies home page, there are many websites listed for each mountain man that you can use. The research was recorded on W. 51-53. Due: Tall Tale In Class: W. 51-53 Homework: Finish research Friday, November 30: If unfinished, students completed their research. They then started writing their research report. It should be two pages, typed, double-spaced, 11-12 point font and include a works cited page. We then started to learn about some of the more famous mountain men. Due: None In Class: W. 44-45 (started) Homework: None Friday, November 16: We concluded learning about famous mountain men and completed W. 44-45. Students completed the review of these people on W. 46-47. Due: None In Class: W. 44-45, W. 46-47 Homework: Current Event #2 Tuesday, November 6: Today we completed the Impact notes on W. 36. We then reviewed for the unit test next week. Students worked on W. 38-39 as part of that review.
