Tuesday, August 16: Welcome to 7th Grade Utah Studies! This is where you will look to find out what we did in class each day, in case you were absent or just in case you forgot. Today we started class with an ice-breaker activity, where we got to know some of our classmates just a little better. Then we discussed the disclosure document and took a tour of the room. Students received a disclosure today if they didn't get one at Back to School Night. That disclosure is due Friday.

If absent, please see Ms. Nay to get your workbook. These must be brought to class every day. We finished our discussion of the classroom rules and procedures (the information on the disclosure statement). To review some of the information, students worked with their table to complete Reference page A in their workbook (the very first page). Students also had a textbook checked out to them. If absent, please see Ms. Nay for your textbook. We explored the workbook and the textbook to see some of the things we will be learning this year. Lastly, students were given the assignment "How Well Do You Know Utah?" The goal is to find as many answers as you can using what you know, your family, or even the internet. Next, we reviewed the rules and procedures of the class. Then, students make their partner clock on the inside cover of their workbook. If absent, we made a partner clock for you.
