Monday, January 11: Class began with some time to review for the Migration Quiz. Students then took the Migration Quiz. They then participated in some pioneer activities, such as making butter.
Due: Workbook In Class: Migration Quiz Homework: None Wednesday, January 13: Today students received their new workbooks. If absent, please see Ms. Nay to pick yours up. We discussed pioneer travel to Utah and the different ways that they got here. We used the textbook as well as information presented by Ms. Nay to begin W. 2. If absent, see a peer to get the notes. Students were then introduced to our modern pioneer movement: Mars. Students learned about the modern attempts at settling Mars that are currently being made. They then begin the Mission to Mars project by reading W. 5 and completing W. 6-7. Due: none In Class: W. 2 (first half), W. 6-7 Homework: Make sure W. 6 complete Friday, January 15: Today we discussed problems the pioneers had with settlement in Utah, completing W. 2 using the textbook. Students then read W. 8 about the clothing the pioneers used and then completed W. 9-10, creating the clothing for their own Mission to Mars.
