Week 5: September 8-12

Monday, September 8: Students were given 10 minutes to review for the test.  Students then took the unit test on the Geography of Utah (if absent, please make up this test after school within one week.  See Ms. Nay if you have questions).  Students received their textbooks during the test.  We then went over the Unit 2 vocabulary (found on page 17 of the workbook) as a class in preparation for the Vocabulary Quiz on Friday. Next we went over the introductory PowerPoint on the geology of Utah and completed the notes on p. 18 of the workbook.  Finally, students started working on the Chapter 2 Study Guide (separate from workbook; see documents page for newut2wksh).  Workbooks were turned in at the end of class.

Wednesday, September 10: Today students finished the Chapter 2 Study Guide and glued it into their workbooks.  The class then discussed how natural forces change the land and completed page 21 in the workbook.  In any remaining time, the class reviewed vocabulary words for Friday's quiz.

Friday, September 12: Class began with a Vocab Quiz.  The class then had a discussion of the creation of mountains.  Students completed page 22 in the workbook.  Students then began working on their pamphlet on Utah's Geology.  The instructions are on page 23 of the workbook.  This will be due September 18.
